Soul Studio
Creative Exploration of the arts
Soul Studio is a supported art studio program for adults 18 years or older who experience difficulties of a psychological, intellectual, social or physical nature.
Through educational programming driven by each artist’s creative impulses, participants have the opportunity to express themselves through creative exploration of the arts while also learning a variety of vocational skills. We support our artists in a variety of art media including: painting, drawing, photography, and digital arts, and inspire them to develop careers as contemporary artists.
In addition to learning techniques and gaining expertise in the art medium of their choice, our artists will develop skills involved in monetizing their talents through the online sale of their work as well as through art exhibits which they will take a lead role in planning and executing.
Each artist’s knowledge is further augmented by field trips such as studio visits, museums and galleries, as well as lectures and films on contemporary art, introducing them to new aesthetic strategies and approaches. The longer each artist participates in the program the more their confidence, independence and sense of purpose grows.
