Sixty teens & young adults with and without disabilities joined together for a weekend conference to break down inclusion barriers. Our revolutionaries generated & innovated brilliant new projects to spread inclusion throughout the year.
FCConnect’s young adults and emerging leaders joined for the Montreal Inclusion Symposium to empower each other to DO inclusion. The evening included a panel of diverse voices and experience on disability inclusion followed by discussions in areas such as education, employment, and the arts. Attendees ended the evening by taking an “inclusion resolution” because we're all about the action:
Students from Montreal’s special needs & mainstream schools met up in an inclusive social experience at Friendship Circle. Students were paired one on one and enjoyed team-building activities, pizza making, art, and sports. Students with special needs experienced meaningful social interactions with typical peers, and everyone met new friends and gained an appreciation of the importance and how-to of inclusion.
Hardworking supermoms of our special friends were treated to much-needed pampering and connecting.
Our annual tournament brought the community together to support our two favorite things, Hockey & Friendship!
Our special friends created incredible mother day gifts to surprise their moms!
Our annual garden party celebrated the tremendous dedication and heart of our volunteers! Friends and families joined to honor them & enjoy a gorgeous event including an inspiring volunteer panel, words from mom representative Rosie Shahrabani & a heartwarming musical performance from FC's Music Group!
The hugs, high-fives, smiles, and happy dances we got to witness as friends met up again after the summer was just magical!
Over 750 of our families, volunteers, and supporters come together to celebrate the Power of Inclusion! Together we raised $540,167 which will support our core mission of creating friendship & inclusion for individuals with special needs.
The number one highlight of 2019 was you!
We would like to say thank you for being in our circle of friendship. Your involvement is what makes the nine other highlights on this list possible. Whether you participated in programming, volunteered or donated to Friendship Circle we thank you for being our #1 supporter.
If you have not yet donated this year, we ask for your kind support. Friendship Circle’s wide range of programs enriches the lives of over 300 families with children who have special needs and over 500 volunteers annually. It’s not what you give that is so precious, it’s how much of yourself is invested in the gift and for that, we say thank you!
